Nigerian e-health startup Medsaf is nominated for the Disruptive Innovation Award. alongside the likes of South Africa’s What3Words and Tanzania’s Trend Solar, while Ghana’s Asoriba earns a nomination for the Best African App Award.

Flutterwave and Asoko Insight are among the nominees for the Enterprise Solution Award, while Senegal’s Jokko Text is nominated for the News and Entertainment Award.

Medsaf and Flare both get their second nominations for the Social Impact Award, while the likes of Ghana’s Farmart and Egypt’s Mazady are nominees for the M-Commerce Award.

“The AppsAfrica Awards were originally set up three years ago to celebrate the best in mobile and tech across the continent as many ventures do not get the visibility or recognition they deserve. This year produced a vast array of great entries from exciting new technologies utilising AI, bots and drones to mobile, health and education initiatives scaling across Africa,” said AppsAfrica founder Andrew Fassnidge.

The winners will be announced at the gala event to be held in CapeTown on November 6, prior to the AfricaCom event.
