South African startup OfferZen has expanded its developer recruitment marketplace to include other tech roles, with the aim of becoming a centralised source of tech talent in the country.
Disrupt Africa reported OfferZen launched in May 2016, giving developers the stronger hand in the recruitment process by asking companies to send interview requests containing detailed information on upfront salary, benefits, company culture and work environment so that developers can compare multiple offers.
A year after launching, OfferZen had attracted 500 companies to hire through its platform, however co-founders Philip and Malan Joubert say they had to turn away numerous potential clients looking to fill alternative tech roles.
As such, the company has decided to leave behind the sole focus of developer recruitment, expanding its platform to include additional areas of expertise including data science, UI/UX design, and product management.
“We are super excited about this big change. Since our launch, we’ve had to turn away thousands of excellent people in many of these roles. Now employers will be able to hire their entire tech team through OfferZen’s marketplace,” Philip Joubert says.
“We realised that if we’re serious about supporting local tech products and local tech talent, we needed to expand our platform to cater for everyone involved in building software,” Malan Joubert says.
