E-health startup HearX Group and messaging service Colony Live were this week named winner at this year’s edition of the Accenture Innovation Index Awards.
Disrupt Africa reported earlier this month five South African startups were named finalists in the awards, which reward forward-thinking businesses that are disrupting industries.
The winners were announced at the Accenture Innovation Conference in Johannesburg on October 17, with HearX Group winning the small companies category. Colony Live was named winner of the emerging companies category.
“All participants were assessed based on their level of advancements in innovation –from the ability to modernise their products and solutions, to how they take them to market,” said Accenture Africa director for integrated marketing and communications Ntombi Mhangwani.
“We paid special attention to their concepts, product developments, process and system designs, as well as how they delivered and commercialised their offerings. We also looked at their commitment to projects across the organisation, including senior management, and ability to make use of ever evolving technology in all its forms as a way of improving value to customers and operational procedures.”
Fintech startup ThisisMe and mobile solar power station developer Solar Turtle were also finalists in the emerging companies category, while emergency response startup CrashDetech was a finalist in the small companies category.
