Kenyan company Grow My Hustle has launched its platform that helps fellow startups, small businesses and creatives fundraise for their projects.
Launched earlier this year, Grow My Hustle aims to tackle the issues with lack of access to funding in Kenya, and has already fully reward crowdfunded its first three projects.
“Banks are no longer able to service loans as they used to due to capped rates. In addition, our platform gives startups a risk-free environment to do market testing for their business before launching,” said Clement Obonyo, co-founder and head of operations at Grow My Hustle.
“The creative industry has been neglected in Kenya, therefore our platform will provide a place where they can be able to get funding.”
The startup is currently operating only in Kenya, but plans on expanding across East Africa by 2019. It takes 10 per cent commission on the amount raised via the platform.
