Applications are open to the Spring 2018 cohort of the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme, with the top 25 “outstanding” young entrepreneurs from developing and emerging economies to join the cohort and participate at the Germany-based Young Founders Conference.
Disrupt Africa reported in October six African entrepreneurs were selected from over 2,000 applicants to join the 21-strong 2017 cohort of the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme, which seeks to support young entrepreneurs from developing and emerging markets, and introduce them to the German ecosystem.
The programme lasts for one year and comprises monthly mentoring calls, invitations and scholarships for entrepreneurship conferences, as well as access to an international network.
In addition, the entrepreneurs travel to Berlin, Germany, to take part in the Young Founders Conference, where they will have the opportunity to meet and interact with successful entrepreneurs, investors, and political decision makers. They will also join a network of like-minded outstanding young founders from around the world.
Based on the success of the 2017 programme, the Westerwelle Foundation has announced it will scale up the programme, and will host two cohorts in 2018 – each with 25 entrepreneurs.
Applications are open to the Spring 2018 programme, which will kick off at the Young Founders Conference in Berlin in April 2018.
Applications are available here, until December 18.
