Goethe-Institut South Africa has invited cultural and social entrepreneurs to apply for the Hub @Goethe mentorship programme in Johannesburg, which will help develop their businesses and become part of a wider startup community.

Goethe-Institut, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany that promotes international cultural cooperation, is calling on all creatives, innovators, developers and entrepreneurs above the age of 18 with specific cultural and sustainable projects to apply for the programme.

Running from May 1 until October 31, it offers selected entrepreneurs workspace, and access to entrepreneur support and development services including one-on-one and group mentorship, events, roundtable discussions and workshops. They will also become part of a community of like-minded creative entrepreneurs.

Goethe-Institut South Africa is looking for entrepreneurs running startups that are cultural or have a strong social entrepreneurship dimension, are less than 18 months old, and have an annual turnover of less than ZAR100,000 (US$7,000).

Applications are open until March 8, with entrepreneurs required to be able to commit to work from the hub at least three days each week. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview in March, which will include a five to 10 minute pitch of their startup. Selected candidates will be notified by March 31.
