The inaugural Francophone Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (FAIS) will take place in Bamako, Mali on March 28-29, bringing together the community of francophone investors to exchange experiences and best practices.
Organised by Suguba, a regional platform focused on enterprise development for “missing middle” entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs, FAIS will take place on the sidelines of the L’Afrique Excelle venture programme.
The event will feature panels and discussions on early-stage investment and entrepreneurship, and profile the most disruptive technology startups in Francophone Africa. Attendees will have the chance to meet the 20 best tech startups from across Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, and connect with policymakers, venture capital firms, corporates and ecosystem partners.
Representatives are expected from 25 African nations, representing more than 50 investor organisations to share expertise and experiences, and foster collaborations to bolster the ecosystem of capital provision for African entrepreneurs.
It will also feature the Francophone Africa 2019 Angel Investor Bootcamp and Masterclass Series, aimed at educating people about angel investing to encourage more funding for African startups in the region.
The masterclass is part of a series of capacity building events to help mobilise the early-stage investor community in Francophone Africa, and will be conducted by experienced investors and entrepreneurs Tomi Davies and Rebecca Enonchong.
