Venture for Africa, a talent community and leading source for top tech startup hires on the continent, has opened applications for its second bootcamp offering.

Venture for Africa is a community created to enable top global talent to transition into roles within the African tech startup ecosystem, with its flagship three-month fellowship exposing participants to local market nuances, offering expert-led training specific to key roles, and introducing them to leading startups looking to hire now.

The organisation co-creates its programmes with startups, including actionable projects for fellows to complete, expert-led workshops in specific areas, and an opportunity to fast-track fellows through the interview process for their dream role upon completion of the learning activities.

The Go-To-Market programme is the latest installation in the growing VFA Bootcamp Series, following the success of the inaugural Fintech Product Management programme, which is currently in its second cohort.

The 10-week Go-To-Market Bootcamp is designed to transform participants into growth assets, with a deeper understanding of core functions and skills needed across the revenue side of the business. The programme covers a wide range of topics, such as conducting market and customer research, examining the competitive landscape, brand messaging and positioning, product/service pricing and adaptation, developing launch marketing strategies, building partnerships, developing a sales pipeline and much more. Participants will be able to incorporate learnings from multiple disciplines into their own specialties.

Each week, participants will attend online masterclasses facilitated by seasoned industry experts relevant to each topic, and will be assigned readings, assignments and real-world field work. Engaging content, practical use cases and stimulating deliverables will be explored to hone in on all the skills necessary for go-to-market.

The programme will be open to individuals already working in their chosen field, as well as those hoping to enter the space. Ideal participants include those with strong strategic and operational skills looking to gain more experience working in growth and revenue teams, and mid-level individuals with deeper experience working in marketing, sales, product, finance or legal roles at an African tech startup who are looking to advance into more senior positions.

“The skills covered in the Go-To-Market Bootcamp are essential for core team members within any business looking to launch or scale in African markets. Since launching our Product Bootcamp last year, we’ve seen high demand for a similar offering in this space, and we’re excited to bring it to life, led by experienced talent from some of the best-known tech businesses globally,” said Venture For Africa co-founder Thea Sokolowski.

At the conclusion of the bootcamp, Venture for Africa will leverage its rich network to place participants who prove to be great candidates for mid-level and senior roles in growth and expansion at leading startups that are looking to hire.

Applications are open here.
