Kenyan startup Zuri Health has secured additional funding from Five35 Ventures to help it scale its innovative healthcare platform to benefit more people.
Disrupt Africa reported in January 2021 on the launch of Zuri Health, a virtual, mobile-first, on-demand healthcare platform that helps patients quickly and easily access healthcare from certified healthcare providers, based on availability, location, and specialisation. The startup initially launched in Kenya but is now also present in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia.
Last year, Zuri Health raised a US$1.3 million pre-seed round of funding, and it has now secured additional investment from Five35 Ventures in order to continue on its growth trajectory. Five35 Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in female-focused startups across multiple sectors that tackle meaningful challenges across the continent.
“We are thrilled to have the support of Five35 Ventures in our journey to transform healthcare. This investment will enable us to scale our platform and bring our innovative health services to more people in need. With the backing of Five35 Ventures, we are confident in our ability to revolutionise how healthcare is accessed and experienced worldwide,” said Titilola Olaolu-Hassan, co-founder of Zuri Health.
