Tunis-based peer-to-peer (P2P) fashion marketplace Dabchy has launched operations in Egypt.
Founded by Amani Mansouri, Ghazi Ketata and Oussama Mahjoub in 2016, Dabchy is an online platform that allows users to buy and sell pre-used and new clothes online.
The startup – which raised a US$300,000 seed round in 2019 – has a community of hundreds of thousands of users in Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, while its Android app has been downloaded over 100,000 times. It has now expanded to Egypt.
“We are excited to bring Dabchy to Egypt, as we believe in the power of fashion to drive positive change,” said Mansouri, Dabchy’s CEO. “Our platform offers an opportunity for individuals to embrace sustainability by decluttering their wardrobes and making some extra money, while also providing affordable fashion choices for consumers.”
