South African payments infrastructure company Stitch has launched WigWag, a new brand designed to serve SMEs and individual business owners with easy, no code payment solutions, powered by the Stitch API.
Founded in February 2021, Stitch is a payments infrastructure company that helps businesses scale faster, and operate more efficiently. The Stitch payments API and tools reduce the effort required for businesses across sectors to connect to the financial system and deliver delightful experiences for their users.
The startup has raised a total of US$27 million in funding and has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Lagos. Disrupt Africa reported in March Stitch had expanded its offering, with the Stitch payments suite designed specifically for businesses with complex payments needs, offering flexibility and customisation.
It has now launched WigWag, which allows small and growing businesses to begin accepting local and international card payments in minutes, without the need for a website or developer resources. They simply need to send a unique payment link to customers in any chat or email.
“At Stitch, we realise payments aren’t one-size-fits-all. Small businesses require access to simple, out-of-the-box tools that can make it easier and faster to collect payments,” said Danielle Laity, WigWag product manager at Stitch. “We created WigWag specifically with these small business clients in mind. Now anyone can have access to reliable payments, powered by the Stitch API, and offer their customers a truly seamless experience.”
To sign up for WigWag, interested businesses can create an account via the website.
