Disrupt Africa has released the third and final episode of its three-part podcast series zeroing in on the state of Africa’s ed-tech space, looking at trends, opportunities and challenges within the vital sector.

Disrupt Podcast has released a number of focused series in the last couple of years, including ones on venture capital, e-commerce, and fintech, while it also produces the regular “The month in VC” series.

Its latest focus is on ed-tech in Africa, looking at the startups that are making waves in the space, what they have achieved so far, and what opportunities and challenges they face going forward. The series is released in partnership with eLearnAfrica, a pioneering force in the field of digital education, elevating the discourse on accessible and collaborative education.

The series looks at how innovation in education is so pivotal on the continent, and discusses initiatives and funders that are backing the development of Africa’s ed-tech ecosystem. Episode one digs into the scope of Africa’s educational challenges, and how ed-tech startups are working to address them.

“We are delighted to join forces with Disrupt Africa, a pioneering force in Africa dedicated to disseminating valuable information within the startup community,” said Brook Negussie, founder and CEO of eLearn Africa.

“The ed-tech space in Africa is one of the most vital, yet least supported, on the continent, so we thought it was important to draw attention to the serious potential the area, and how we can better drive growth for startups operating in it,” said Gabriella Mulligan, co-founder of Disrupt Africa.
