Twenty-two entrepreneurs from 10 African tech startups have been accepted into the global Endeavor network since last June, gaining access to various support services to help their companies scale.
The Endeavor initiative works to catalyse long-term economic growth by selecting, mentoring, and accelerating the best high-impact entrepreneurs worldwide, and has accepted a host of African entrepreneurs into its network in recent years.
Disrupt Africa last reported on Endeavor in June 2023, reporting on the previous 12 months of selected ventures, and since then a further 22 entrepreneurs from 10 African startups have joined the global network. The organisation now supports 2,555 entrepreneurs from 1,568 companies in 42 markets around the world.
The 38th Virtual International Selection Panel (ISP) held in June 2023 saw Deepankar Rustagi of Nigerian retail-tech startup OmniBiz and Said Ouissal of Moroccan edge management and orchestration solution ZEDEDA selected to join.
At the 96th ISP, held in July in Bali, Indonesia, Mostafa Amin, Muhammad Habib, and Abdallah Nofal from Egyptian on-demand grocery and household essentials delivery company Breadfast were selected to join the network, alongside Tunde Kara, Olumide Fayankin, Gatumi Aliyu, and Oyewale Oyepeju from Nigerian food supply chain startup Vendease.
The 39th virtual ISP in August saw Mohamed Elhorishy, Ismail Omar, and Abdelrahman Sherief from Egyptian social commerce startup Taager join Endeavor’s ranks, while Wissem Souissi of Tunisian due diligence platform Dasseti was selected at the 40th Virtual ISP held in September.
Further African founders were selected at the 97th ISP held in October in Rome, Italy, namely Mostafa El Beltagy, Abdel-Azim Osman, Ahmed Rafea, and Mohamed Abou Ghanima of Egyptian prop-tech startup Nawy, and Brian Mogeni and Mike Otieno of Kenyan startup Wowzi, which connects African creatives with global brands.
Michael Heyink from South African asset financing company Yellow joined Endeavor at the 43rd Virtual ISP held in January, and Cordel Robbin-Coker and Lucy Hoffman of South African mobile games developer Carry1st were selected to join the network at the 44th Virtual ISP in February.
