Applications have opened for the fourth edition of GameUp Africa, a training initiative spearheaded by Maliyo Games aimed at empowering aspiring game development talents and providing them with the necessary resources to thrive in a global games market.
Launched in 2021, GameUp Africa supports young African game developers and creators from all African countries via a five-month in-house training programme.
It is spearheaded by Maliyo Games, a Lagos-based game development studio that creates African-inspired games for mobile users, with over 40 games in its portfolio.
“We’re extremely proud of announcing the fourth edition of GameUp Africa. It truly is a testament to the industry impact and longevity of this programme. This year, we’ve expanded our reach further, focusing on even more skills needed to succeed in both the local and global games industries,” said Maliyo Games founder and CEO Hugo Obi.
Applications are open until August 11.
