Morocco’s Userguest raises $2.4m seed funding to revolutionise hotel technology

Moroccan startup Userguest, which enables hotels to optimise their revenues, has closed a EUR2.2 million (US$2.4 million) round of seed funding as it prepares for rapid expansion and product innovation.

Founded in 2018, Userguest is a fully automated tool that enables hotels to optimise their direct revenue from their website by curating personalised messages and intelligent incentives for visitors.

The startup’s EUR2.2 million (US$2.4 million) seed funding round was led by Al Mada Ventures, and featured CDG Invest, Saviu Ventures, UM6P Ventures, Kalys VC, Plug & Play, and esteemed business angels Philippe Limes and Thane Kuhlman.

“This investment underscores our investors’ confidence in our vision to create an automated tool that optimises conversions and revenue for hotels. Having solidified our market presence and earned the trust of leading hotel brands, we are now ready to elevate Userguest to new heights, enhancing hotel performance while enriching user experience, benefiting both hoteliers and travellers alike,” said Userguest co-founder Hicham Benyebdri.

Userguest already operates in over 30 countries, and has generated more than US$100 million in direct revenue for hotels since 2019. The primary goal of the fundraising round is to supercharge growth and introduce new, innovative features and products. A significant portion of the funding will bolster the sales team, allowing the company to further penetrate key markets and solidify its position as a market leader and direct revenue optimiser.

“We are thrilled to lead this investment round,” said Yassine Soual from Al Mada Ventures. “Userguest’s impressive trajectory, commitment to innovation, and focus on customer satisfaction position it as a standout player in the hospitality tech space. We are confident that this funding will accelerate Userguest’s growth and enable it to continue delivering exceptional value.”
