A coalition between Egyptian ed-tech startup EYouth and a handful of well-known local businessmen has launched NextEra Education, an initiative aimed at modernising the educational landscape in Egypt with an investment of EGP2 billion (US$41 million).

Founded in 2016 and taken online in 2018, EYouth designs and builds its own online training courses aimed at helping young people develop their careers and ensure they have the required skills for the labour market.

The startup has now partnered with leading business figures Mohamed Farouk and Ahmed Tarek, and visionary entrepreneurs Mustafa Abd Ellatif and Mokhtar Ahmed, to launch NextEra Education, an initiative established with more than EGP2 billion (US$41 million) in investments that is aimed at radically developing Egypt’s education system.

NextEra Education is set to modernise the educational landscape by integrating advanced AI technologies, overhauling traditional curricula, and collaborating with prestigious international universities to bring world-class education to Egypt. It has been designed to address the critical challenges in Egypt’s current education system by providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy.

“NextEra Education is more than just an educational institution; it represents a bold step forward in redefining the future of education in Egypt,” said Mustafa Abd Ellatif, CEO of NextEra Education and EYouth. “Our significant investment, coupled with AI integration and global partnerships, ensures that our students will not only meet the demands of today’s job market but will also be the leaders of tomorrow.”

Mohamed Farouk, CEO of Mobica and chairman of NextEra Education, said the goal was to build an educational ecosystem in Egypt that bridges the gap between traditional methods and modern economic needs.

“Through these investments and AI integration, we are setting a new benchmark for educational excellence in Egypt,” he said.

NextEra Education will offer a range of specialised programmes in collaboration with leading international universities and educational institutions, including University of Minnesota, Drake University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Collège de Paris, Nexford University, and 01 Talent Coding School. These partnerships enable it to offer globally recognised accredited programmes, including Bachelor’s degrees in fields such as Programming Systems, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Data Science, and Analytics.
