Nigerian VC firm Venture Garden Group (VGG) has partnered Ascend Studios and USAID to launch the Africa Creative Blueprint (ACB), designed to provide innovative, capacity-building, resources and skills to help women and youth thrive in Nigeria’s creative sector.
The Africa Creative Blueprint will strengthen Nigerian youth with the skills and resources needed to compete in the creative industry and also elevate Nigerian creatives to the international stage.
It offers dynamic, hands-on training to elevate Africa’s creative economy. Upon completion, 200 skilled participants will join the production of a 13-episode TV drama, creating over 200 full-time and part-time jobs during production.
The partnership will catalyse additional funding to strengthen Nigeria’s burgeoning Nollywood industry, with additional partners including the renowned music executive Ralph Simon and Paramount Nigeria.
“We are always committed to efforts that nurture the promising talents Africa possesses,” said Bunmi Akinyemiju, CEO and co-founder of Venture Garden Group. “This collaboration represents a milestone for the Nigerian creative sector, and an opportunity for Venture Garden Group to drive impact in African creativity on a global platform. Through this initiative, we are building the infrastructure needed to develop world-class creative talent capable of transforming the industry.”
Applications are open here until December 15.
