Senegalese e-health startup Eyone raises $1m funding to expand across Africa

Senegalese e-health startup Eyone has raised US$1 million in funding to consolidate its sector leadership and accelerate its expansion across Africa.

Eyone has developed a medical interoperability platform that provides healthcare professionals and patients with real-time medical records. Earlier this year, the startup collaborated with the Senegalese to set up the Unique Shared Patient File, a project aimed at ensuring the availability of reliable and secure medical data throughout a patient’s care pathway.

It is now targeting pan-African expansion after securing US$1 million in funding, which includes a US$855,000 contribution from the Sonatel Group, through its investment fund VIF, and US$145,000 in financing from BICIS.

Eyone will use the capital to consolidate its sector-leading position and accelerate its expansion across Africa.

“Our objective is simple – to improve the quality of care while democratising access to healthcare for all. This financing marks a key step in our journey, enabling us to continue to innovate and meet the growing needs of our populations,” said Henri Ousmane Gueye, CEO of Eyone.

“We are proud to support EYONE in this strategic phase of its development. As a group committed to innovation, we firmly believe in their vision of making digital health a key lever for Africa’s development,” said Sékou Dramé, CEO of the SONATEL Group.
