Applications are open for the Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, with young social entrepreneurs from Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe invited to apply.
The six-month structured bootcamp programme – run by the US government’s embassies in the three countries – aims to equip participants with the skills, tools and funding necessary to launch a successful social enterprise.
“While each applicant is unique, successful candidates will be those who can demonstrate an unwavering commitment to a social issue, an ability to solve problems creatively and independently, and a positive track record of leadership,” the organisers said.
Successful applicants will be required to participate in workshops, read the provided training materials and complete a number of assignments, as well as participate in peer reviews.
All participants must commit to sustaining their project after the programme is ended.
To be eligible for the programme applicants must be citizens or residents of Namibia, Zambia or Zimbabwe; be aged between 25 and 25 years old; and must not have participated in US exchange programmes in the past five years.
Applications are open until January 31, and can be made online.

I am a social entreprenuer who is just starting in Zimbabwe. Although i feel this is a noble initiative, i feel it doesn’t support me as an older woman because i’m past the age of 25 but yet feel, would benefit and learn immensely from this bootcamp.
