The Nairobi Innovation Week Committee has announced the official commencement of the registration process for the event in August, which will bring together government, academia, startups and other stakeholders for discussions under the theme “Innovate and Prosper”.

Registration can be made on the Innovation Week website, with the event set for August 5-7 and to comprise keynote speeches in plenary sessions, policy discussions, research paper and case study presentations, roundtable discussions and exhibitions of inventions and innovations by individual innovators, startups and organisations.

Confirmed speakers including Ministry of ICT cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiangi and C4DLab lead Dr Tonny Omwansa. Various registration packages are available.

Disrupt Africa reported last month the University of Nairobi and its business incubator C4DLab announced a call for papers for Innovation Week, asking university students and staff, startups, entrepreneurs, investors, hubs, and private and public sector players to suggest papers, illustrations, and case studies to be exhibited during the event.

“Are you passionate about technology and innovation? Do you have a disruptive innovation that you so pine to showcase on an international platform? Or do you just want to witness radical and practical innovation? Or do you merely want to network and might be to rub shoulders with the high and mighty of technology and innovation? The occasion is here!” C4DLab said.

“All in all, the Nairobi Innovation Week will have achieved, among other things, special engagement with policy makers on the growth and support of innovation ecosystem in Kenya, showcase of spectacular innovations and inventions, creation of useful linkages, launch of important journals, and increase of innovator, university and partner visibility.”
