African startups are being invited to apply for the Blackbox Connect programme, which will see a number of non-US companies selected to visit Silicon Valley for two weeks in February next year.
The programme offers founders a two-week all expenses paid trip to Silicon Valley, where they will have the opportunity to live and collaborate with like-minded entrepreneurs and take part in an intense agenda of meetings and workshops with entrepreneurs, investors, experts and executives.
Blackbox Connect accepts applications from tech-based startups that have already gathered feedback from early adopters and customers. Ideally startups should already have raised some investment capital, have a team of more than two people and have a product or service that can be launched globally.
Applications for the programme, which begins on February 2, 2015, are open until November 21.
This year, Blackbox Connect extended its partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs to run two programme cycles, while also doubling the number of startups in each programme to 16. South African startup Weaver took part in the first programme, while Egyptian startup Eventtus was one of 16 selected for the second batch.
