Ugandan incubator Outbox is inviting applications for its next cohort of the Women Passion (WOPA) programme, with up to 100 women to be trained in programming and entrepreneurship.

The 12 week free programme is set to run between January 12 and March 30, 2015, and participants will receive training in human-centred design, lean startup methodology, and web-based programming languages.

“Our mission is to foster the creation of women entrepreneurs that address the intersection of opportunities/problems in community with their passions and interests,” Outbox said.

The programme – run in collaboration with Google for Entrepreneurs and WeTech Global – is aimed at final year university students, and those who have already left university; and to be eligible applicants must not come from a computer science background.

Applicants must show strong leadership potential and entrepreneurial flair, and be willing to complete the 12 week programme undisturbed.

Outbox is to hold an information evening on December 19 for those interested in applying, from 5pm at the Outbox venue.  Those wishing to attend can register now for the info session.

Applications for the Women Passion programme must be submitted by January 6.
