xHub to host computer science course

Ethiopian co-working space xHub is to host a four week course on the basics of computer science, taught using the Python language.

No prior knowledge or programming experience is necessary, with the course aimed at those who “always wanted to build an idea […] into reality but never knew where to start”.

The course will be taught by Harvard university computer science student Hilawi W. Belachew, who says his own decision to pursue a career in IT was sparked by a similar course he attended in his youth.

“I remember taking a computer science class while I was in high school. It was a great experience and I learned more than I imagined I could. It had a huge role in my choosing to study computer science in college. I couldn’t be happier I made the choice to try it out!” Belachew said.

“If you’re the type that loves to build, tinker and learn, you might just love programming,” he said.

The course begins tomorrow, January 21, at 4pm.  Those interested should register online.
