Thirty Nigerian startups have been selected to pitch in their businesses to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari as part of the inaugural Aso Villa Demo Day competition.
Disrupt Africa reported in June on the launch of the competition, aimed at finding Nigeria’s most innovative startups.
The Aso Villa Demo Day competition is divided into two stages. An initial pitching event was held featuring 100 startups at the end of June, with startups pitching to an audience of public and private sector investors.
From that field, 30 startups have now been selected to pitch their ideas in front in Buhari at an “unveiling” exhibition, though no date has yet been confirmed for this.
The selected entrepreneurs include Chika Uwaeze of TalentBase, Uche Ariolu of Foodstantly, Benson Godwin of Tuteria, Obidipe Oluwaseun of Mocapro, Amaka Osita of FuelVoucher, Tele Ogundipe of Egusi Soupe, and Mogbeyiteran Tosan of Blackswan.
Also on the list are Tolu Adeyanju of Red Bank, Dami Olokesusi of ShuttlersNG and Alison Ukonu of RecyclePoints.
