The World Bank has issued a call for applications to innovative social enterprises in the last mile delivery and agriculture sectors to assist with an urban development project it is undertaking in Liberia.

The World Bank is helping the Government of Liberia to prepare an urban development project for the capital city Monrovia and the surrounding region, with the aim of delivering off-network decentralised solutions for service delivery and create jobs.

It has partnered Intellecap in a bid to identify social enterprises with proven business models that are willing to expand into or across Liberia, or to replicate an existing model from another country into Liberia.

The World Bank project will provide financing and facilitation support for replication in Liberia, and is looking for solutions that can improve last mile service delivery or create jobs for marginalised populations, including developing agribusiness opportunities.
