South African customer care startup IBleat is hoping to crowdfund ZAR5 million (US$340,000) through an Uprise.Africa campaign to help expand its operations.
iBleat has developed an app that functions as a dedicated customer care channel, connecting individuals with companies.
The company is seeking growth funding, and has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Uprise.Africa platform. It is seeking ZAR5 million in return for a 20 per cent stake, and at the time of writing had secured ZAR16,000 (US$1,000).
Uprise.Africa, which raised an equity funding round of its own last year, achieved a major milestone this year when regtech startup Intergreatmesecured ZAR32.436 million (US$2.19 million) from 406 investors.
Some campaigns, however, such as that run by mobility startup LÜLA, have been less successful. P2P solar leasing startup Sun Exchange and fintech startup My-iMali are currently crowdfunding via the platform, with mixed results.
