Malekani has expertise, a valuable network, and a stellar track record of over 20 years in propelling top and bottom-line performance, fostering world-class teams, and driving unprecedented business growth and success in the financial services sector.
Before his latest appointment, he served 8 years as Business Development Director for Mastercard in Zambia and Malawi, where he led significant sales and revenue expansion for Mastercard. He’s also a former Banker at Absa Group, Stanbic, and Investrust Banks.
PremierCredit Zambia, a participating startup in Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator’s first cohort, stands out in Zambia’s credit loan market with its innovative peer-to-peer (P2P) investment platform, PremierInvest, which offers investors up to 36%, its instant loan USSD service which deepens financial inclusion, and digital loans to underserved micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
In his new role, Malekani aims to achieve nationwide accessibility of the company’s products and services by forging partnerships with mobile network operators and continuously improving customer experience to grow the company’s user base to a million in two years.
