The African Business Angel Network (ABAN) and Scaling digital Agriculture Innovations through Startups (SAIS) have opened applications for the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network cohort.

ABAN is the largest pan-African organisation of angel investors, while SAIS, a project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is a company development and accelerator programme offering an investment readiness programme for agri-tech and climate-tech entrepreneurs.

Disrupt Africa reported in October the pair had partnered to launch the Climate Smart Agriculture Angel Investor Capacity Development (CAICD) programme, which aimed to enhance the angel investment ecosystem in climate-smart agriculture.

Applications have now opened for the first Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network cohort, which is seeking dynamic and dedicated individuals passionate about advancing angel investing across Africa and interested in shaping the future of investing in climate-smart agriculture.

The programme aims to recruit business angels to be part of the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network and provide them with context-specific tools, training, and technical support to maximize their engagement and effectiveness.

Key activities will include training, networking, venture showcases, and technical assistance. Interested parties can fill out this form by December 20.
