Egypt’s EdVentures makes 6-figure investment in ed-tech startups Schoolz, Ibn Sina

Egyptian VC firm EdVentures has made six-figure US dollar investments in two Egyptian ed-tech startups – Schoolz and Ibn Sina Training Academy.

Founded in 2020 by Abdel Monsef Ismail, Ayman Hamza and Hosni Ahmed, Schoolz is a tech-driven platform that provides safe, affordable, and reliable student transportation solutions. Ibn Sina, founded in 2017, offers specialised medical training programmes, including courses in medical translation, coding, and digital marketing.

The new funding expands EdVentures’ portfolio to a total of 24 startups. The investment arm of Nahdet Misr,  EdVentures is the leading ed-tTech-focused corporate venture capital firm in MENA, and its new investments are made through its innovative EdTech Ventures Studio (EDVS) programme. 

Schoolz and Ibn Sina Training Academy were chosen from a competitive pool of 10 startups in the inaugural EDVS bootcamp.
