South African e-health startup Envisionit Deep AI has announced a collaboration agreement with Bayer in the radiology domain, to explore potential future use cases for parts of its portfolio – such as Bayer’s AI innovation Platform, a cloud-based end-to-end software development platform for imaging-based AI.

Founded in 2019 by Dr Jaishree Naidoo, Andrei Migatchev and Terence Naidu, Envisionit Deep AI builds innovative medical solutions that harness the power of AI to transform how healthcare professionals diagnose and treat patients.

Through solutions such as its RADIFY AI technology, the company is improving the speed, accuracy, quality and affordability of medical imaging diagnosis, which is crucial in the early detection and treatment of various diseases including tuberculosis, coronavirus pneumonia and breast cancer, among others.

Envisionit Deep AI, which raised US$1.65 million in funding in February 2023, has now teamed up with Bayer, with the aim of further advancing the future of AI-driven medical imaging diagnostics. The partnership seeks to contribute to the compliance, accuracy, and reliability of AI technologies in clinical environments.

“The agreement to explore with Bayer in radiology future use cases for our tools is an exciting one for us as we are taking a significant step toward advancing AI reliability and compliance in medical diagnostics,” said Naidoo.

“This collaboration underscores our shared dedication to addressing critical challenges in AI implementation delivering solutions that not only improve patient outcomes but also empower radiologists with trustworthy, cutting-edge technology.”
